What are you doing to create leverage and build your wealth? Do you have diverse streams of income or are all your eggs in one basket?

 

Do you trade time for dollars or are you creating “passive” income that accumulates even when you don’t work?

 

In these “uncertain economic times,” the majority of people who DON’T have all their income coming from one source will fair better than those who do. 

 

So just how can you diversity your income streams?

 

After interviewing 15 wealth experts on the various topics related to building wealth and living the lifestyle of their dreams, I saw a common pattern that emerged. Each one had created wealth from a variety of sources.

 

Some of those sources included their main or primary business, real estate, information products and Direct Selling.  And that’s what I want to talk about. Direct Sales. Direct sales can be Person to Person Sales organizations, Party Plan products (going into people’s homes or businesses and demonstrating the product) and Multi-level Marketing.  Each model works differently using other people’s contacts as leverage to build a business.

 

As with many business models, with a direct sales organization you can be your own boss.  However there are distinct differences. Some of those include:

 

Flexibility ~ With a network marketing/direct sales company you can work part time or full time and you are not necessarily trading time for dollars. You are trading people assets for income.

 

There is more than one way to make money.  You can make money by selling product directly to your customer AND by enlisting team members to sell to their customers giving you a residual income based upon your team’s performance.

 

Direct sales businesses are relatively easy to start up, there is often little barrier to entry in terms of skill level. In most cases you don’t need a college degree or even a high school degree.  You need a willingness to learn and a real desire to achieve financial independence.

 

The startup costs are not prohibitive. Generally you don’t need a lot of capital to get started as you may only pay a licensing fee and a monthly minimum of product sales (or purchases).

 

Once you’ve built your team or customer base, in direct sales, the income keeps on coming in (residual) even if you don’t work.

 

There may be tax advantages to being in direct sales such as the ability to deduct expenses for a home-office.

 

Most network marketing/direct sales organizations have a model in place that is replicatable and great support, ongoing education and continuous investment in product improvement and creation. 

 

You are surrounded by people just like you with similar desires and goals to live their dream life.

Network Marketing is not for everyone. I know! I have signed up for more companies than I can count on both hands.  Most of them didn’t work out. But that’s because I didn’t really work the companies or believe in the product or service. If you do want to diversify, check out several direct sales companies. Try to see past the rah, rah, rah and cheerleading that tends to go on. Find one that you feel comfortable telling your family and friends about.  That’s am important issue, because if you are not proud of the company you represent, it will show.

When you do find the right company, one you believe in 100%, it will be much easier to make the sale and start building a residual income stream that will help you create the financial leverage and live YOUR DREAM LIFE.

Start slow ~ don’t try to buy everything at once.

The list can then be used to market other products the audience likely has an interest in.

♦ Have a presence on all the major social networking sites.  This helps with SEO and gets people to know you.  Tom also suggests you hire someone at an hourly rate to do this for you.  You could spend hours upon hours doing it yourself so you have to ask yourself what its worth to delegate this to someone else. Hire a high school student who knows their way around the ‘net to post your bio, pictures, audio and video to these sites and watch your visits increase dramatically.

♦ And what I consider the most important tip of the day: Get good training from someone who’s doing what you want to do.
